Hello from Guangzhou

We arrived home on Saturday. Sorry for our delay in posting...we had a computer problem.

Our days in Guangzhou were dedicated to Sarah's Visa photo and medical examination at the local clinic.

We waited and waited for paperwork...

visiting local markets ...

and attending first social events.

People's Park, Nanchang

We had a great day in the park. Many of the locals were exercising, practicing Ti Chi, Kung fu, and dancing. Anytime we would stop the elders would crowd around to ask questions, while the teens took pictures. Several of the mothers would ask if Sarah was Chinese because of her fair skin, and lighter hair. They said she looks like Denise. It was a wonderful interaction.

With love,

Rob, Denise, Zachary, Michael, and Sarah

Finalizing the adoption at the Civil Affairs Office

All is going well. Sarah is now legally ours. The adoption has been finalized. The orphanage gave us a jade necklace as a gift for Sarah and the civil affairs office gave us a porcelain pencil holder with beautiful pictures as a gift when they finalized the adoption. Sarah loves to eat and she enjoys her sippy cup and just about every food we give her. She is also a pretty good sleeper and a very easy going baby. Zachary and Michael are doing well and have tried just about every kind of food and have liked most. This morning we went to Wal-mart to shop for baby supplies and snacks. Now that we have Sarah we get a lot stares and smiles and waves. The people are very friendly and happy for us and for Sarah. Oh yes, the boys are working hard on their homework as we are starting to get over the jet lag. We miss you all and look forward to introducing you to Sarah. She is a natural part of our family. We all love her so much! She is such a snuggle bear!

Love, Denise

Arrived in Beijing

Our view from our room at the Novotel Beijing Peace Hotel. We didn't have much time to explore today.

We however explored every inch of the Seoul International Airport!

Joey was adoped from Vietnam years years ago. He loved playing with the boys while waiting for our connecting flight. His family is travelling with us to the adopt his little brother in China's Nanchang Province.
