We had a great day in the park. Many of the locals were exercising, practicing Ti Chi, Kung fu, and dancing. Anytime we would stop the elders would crowd around to ask questions, while the teens took pictures. Several of the mothers would ask if Sarah was Chinese because of her fair skin, and lighter hair. They said she looks like Denise. It was a wonderful interaction.
With love,
Rob, Denise, Zachary, Michael, and Sarah
Oh, Denise, you look so happy in these pictures you made me cry... How cute to see Sarah's smile! We are so glad this trip is turning out to be such a great family adventure. The boys (all 3 of them) look like they are having a blast, too! Love you all - Don, Karen, Ryan, Lindsay & Evan

ReplyDeleteI love all the awesome pictures!!! Sarah is certainly a part of your family. What a HAPPY, HAPPY time. Can't wait to see ALL of you. Love and miss you. Judy
ReplyDeleteOh Denise, everytime I see these photos I cry! You all look so beautiful and what an gift from God Miss Sarah is!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe're glad you are having a chance to get out among the people and that they are receptive. When we were there in 1988, no one waved or smiled at us. They did stare at us but I always thought it was because of our blonde hair. The picture of you with a smiling Sarah on the swing is the best!! John says it's his favorite. He says "Hi" to everyone. I talked to your Mom today, just after you called. Love to all of you,
ReplyDeleteJohn and Karen
What a beautiful family! Sarah has the sweetest smile! So very happy for all of you!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Niki
May our Amazing God continue to heap blessings on you! Little Sarah is so precious and so cozy in your arms. China looks so huge. Everything seems big and clean. Enjoy every exotic minute there. We love you!

We are so sorry to hear that you are having problems with your computer and may not be able to post anything more on this blog until you get home. We will continue to check daily in case you do, however. We are glad you made it safely to Guangzhou, the last leg of your journey. It was great to hear from you the other day and get more details about Sarah: it's fun to hear that she's walking, talking [mama, dada and gaygay (brother in Chinese)], how tiny she is (wearing size 12-18 mos. and only size 2 in shoes!)and that she loves just about any food! The boys sound like they are having quite an adventure - especially with the hamster balls - we can't wait to hear their stories when you return! We love you all and can't wait to see you next Saturday! Love, Don, Karen, Ryan, Lindsay and Evan
ReplyDeleteI hope you get this, computer problems are so confusing! Please get a nice picture(s) of all 5 of you together. Be sure to take a walk through the open air market. That's where everyone shops 2 times a day, morning for lunch supplies and afternoon for dinner, since few have refrigeraton in their apartments/homes. I will keep checking every day for more news and pictures. Hope you get to the zoo while you're in Guangzhou. It's so different from L.A.'s. We can't wait till you get back. Love to you all, John and Karen
ReplyDeleteGreat Pictures! Rob is such a natural pushing the baby carriage! ha! Everyone looks fabulous and happy! XOXOXO
