Finalizing the adoption at the Civil Affairs Office

All is going well. Sarah is now legally ours. The adoption has been finalized. The orphanage gave us a jade necklace as a gift for Sarah and the civil affairs office gave us a porcelain pencil holder with beautiful pictures as a gift when they finalized the adoption. Sarah loves to eat and she enjoys her sippy cup and just about every food we give her. She is also a pretty good sleeper and a very easy going baby. Zachary and Michael are doing well and have tried just about every kind of food and have liked most. This morning we went to Wal-mart to shop for baby supplies and snacks. Now that we have Sarah we get a lot stares and smiles and waves. The people are very friendly and happy for us and for Sarah. Oh yes, the boys are working hard on their homework as we are starting to get over the jet lag. We miss you all and look forward to introducing you to Sarah. She is a natural part of our family. We all love her so much! She is such a snuggle bear!

Love, Denise

  4. Congratulations!
I love the pictures! You have all been on my mind so much! I'm so happy to hear that Sarah and the boys are adjusting! EVERYDAY, Matthew asks "if Michael will be at school today." That boy thinks China is around the corner (ha!ha!) Love to all!

  5. We love the pictures. I wonder how often kids do homework in the Civil Affairs Office? Is that a shrimp Zach is holding? John wants to celebrate "Gotcha Day". What is that in the red bowl you are holding when you went to get Sarah? Glad you are all holding up well. We're anxious to have you home.

    Love, John andd Karen

  6. Thanks for the update, guys! We are so happy for all of you - and glad that Sarah has joined your family so easily. Somehow we feel that those two crazy boys of yours have helped her feel right at home! Evan really cracked up when he saw the pic of the boys balancing their pencils on their noses (couldn't tell what they were doing until we clicked on the pic to make it bigger)- what hams! And Don especially liked the pic of Zach trying new food items! We can't wait to see Sarah in person - she's a little doll! Love, Don, Karen, Ryan, Evan and of course, Lindsay
